RESIDENTIAL PROJECTS
Sewickley Area Addition and Renovation
The Owners purchased this home for its beautiful, secluded location. The Colonial Revival style was not their favorite. They imagined a rustic lodge in the forest or an English country house. We accomplished that feeling by almost completely surrounding the existing house with an Addition and opening a large dormer in the existing house to visually connect it with those in the Addition. We extended the house into the landscape with side porches for entry and for viewing of the yard. The interior was completely gutted due to a mold infestation. All finishes were replaced with natural materials to complement the Owners taste. A rustic stone fireplace dominates the new two-story Family Room while an elegant, slate faced fireplace warms the Dining Room (existing Living Room). The stone is offset by the warm wood tones of stained trim and “character” cherry floors. The existing Dining Room was redesigned as a Family Office or Den, where all of the Family can work at home together. The Bedrooms and Baths were reconfigured to provide a Guest Suite, Children’s Bedrooms with a Bath, Linen and Cedar Closets, and a Master Suite. The Owners will soon be able to enjoy their country house.
